The NBA 2K League revealed the opening weekend matchups for its tipoff tournament, a weekend that traditionally marks the beginning of the season.
The four-day tournament, which puts a $160,000 prize pool up for grabs, will run May 19-22.
The first slate of four matchups will start at 6 p.m. The defending champion Wizards District Gaming will begin their title defense against Celtics Crossover Gaming at 8 p.m.
The teams have been split into seven groups, with each of the group’s winners plus the best non-group winning team advancing to a final tournament.
The tournament represents the opening of what will be the league’s fourth season, as all 23 of its teams will participate remotely initially.
The TIPOFF is one of three tournaments throughout the season and all matchups are best-of-three battles.
